Record number of exhibitors at WorldFood Kazakhstan

WorldFood Kazakhstan, the food industry and agriculture exhibition celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, has achieved a fivefold rise in exhibition space and a fourfold rise in exhibitor numbers.

Professionals of the food and agriculture sector will come together from 6 to 9 November 2012 at the event, which features for the first time 371 companies from 36 countries. Total exhibition space is 8,200 sqm, and over 6,500 professional visitors are expected.

Since its launch in 1998, WorldFood Kazakhstan has grown in size by 500% - from 1,600 sqm in Pavilion 9 to 8,200 sqm in the modern Pavilions 10 and 11 of the Atakent exhibition centre. From its foundation, the event’s popularity has risen among industry professionals from Kazakhstan, Central Asia and around the world, drawn to its presentation of new technologies and achievements in the production of food products, ingredients and packaging. Seven national pavilions will make their first appearance at the exhibition - Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands, Serbia, Singapore, the Czech Republic and Estonia.

“It is particularly impressive that in the last year alone, direct exhibitor numbers at the event increased by 16%. For the first time in the exhibition’s history, Germany will present two national stands, one dedicated to the food industry in Pavilion 11 and another featuring agriculture companies in Pavilion 10. We are proud of our new feature - the Bakery sector, which will bring together around 30 companies,” said Anna Bychkova, Project Manager at Iteca, the organisers.

The event’s business programme is as extensive as ever: the Best Product of WorldFood Kazakhstan tasting contest will take place, and a full schedule of seminar presentations and open masterclasses has been planned. The Best Product competition will feature 30 companies submitting 100 food and drink products before a professional judging panel. The results will be announced on the exhibition website on 7 November. Just some of the topics with dedicated seminars will be ‘Modern fish processing technologies’, ‘New developments in bread baking equipment’, ‘Measures from the DAMU Fund to develop franchising in Kazakhstan’, and ‘Issues of optimising animal and poultry feed using natural nanobiological catalysts’.

In a neighbouring pavilion to WorldFood Kazakhstan, two other exhibitions will take place - AgroWorld Kazakhstan on agriculture and KazUpack dedicated to packaging. 70 companies from 12 countries will exhibit at AgroWorld Kazakhstan, with a feature of the exhibition this year being significant international participation - Germany and Russia are the leading countries in terms of exhibitor numbers. 80% of exhibitors are producer companies, presenting new technologies based on their own scientific research. With 50 exhibiting companies from 8 countries, KazUpack has encouragingly returned to its pre-crisis levels. Solutions for organising warehouse facilities will be presented as a separate area this year.

WorldFood Kazakhstan, AgroWorld Kazakhstan and KazUpack will together feature 371 exhibiting companies (309 directly represented) from 36 countries: Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Denmark, Germany, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Malaysia, Moldova, Morocco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the UAE, Poland, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, the USA, Turkey, Ukraine, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Estonia and South Korea. News updates on the exhibition will be posted on www.worldfood.kz.

WorldFood Kazakhstan is organised by the Kazakhstani company Iteca and its international partners in the UK, Russia, Germany, Turkey, the UAE, China and Kyrgyzstan.
