Kazakhstan increases food production

The Vice Minister informed about the progress in the implementation of the state program for the development of the agro-industrial complex.

“The volume of gross agricultural output for four months in 2017, compared to the same period last year, increased by 2.9 percent”. The volume of food production for four months in 2017, compared to the same period last year, increased by 5.7 percent”, - he declared.

“In particular, as a result of measures taken and new subsidy mechanisms for January-April 2017 compared to the same period last year, the production of butter increased by 8.9%, hard cheese - 10.3%, meat and canned meat –6.7%, processed milk –6.4%, vegetable oil - 10.6%, combined feed - 18.2%” - highlighted Aytuganov.

The Vice-Minister reminded that during the current year for crediting of spring field works through the holding “KazAgro” the final rate for agricultural producers for the first time is no more than six percent, whereas in previous years it was 9-10 percent. In addition, the number of documents required to receive a loan has been reduced. The measures taken, in his opinion, “to a certain extent contributed to the increase in investments in the fixed capital of agriculture”.

“During four months there has been an increase by 26.3 percent”, - said Aituganov.
